Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Review- Part 1

This year I'm splitting my review for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare into two parts. I felt like I rushed last years review and I didn't give the review the proper time. For the most part this years game is a whole new version of the Call of Duty franchise expect for the same graphics and play style. Sledgehammer Games has really given the franchise something to use that isn't just a gimmick.

Laser weapons and Tsunami's!!!!

The problem with last years version "Ghost" was the idea that a dog could change the game and bring something new to Call of Duty. A dog is not going to make the game better, ghost felt like a Bad clone. With the introduction of the Exo suit in Call of Duty the world really changes hor the player. In the first few minutes it really took me a few seconds to realize how amazing this suit was. No longer is a player forced to take the path given in a multiplayer map. If you don't want to go a certain way just jump over it. The advantages of ariel combat greatly out number the old "Boots on the Ground" method. Power slams and slides are now apart of the game- even if it feels just a little to much like Destiny's gameplay.

You too can look as cool as me.

Guns. Guns. Guns. Oh my does this game have some great new weapons. From a grenade launcher attached to your arm to a badass laser rifle. The Exo suit also adds a new way to use that plain old riot shield. AW is really going to piss some old players off. I mean everything can be customized; from weapons to strikes. Adding these new features should of happened in past Call of Duty games.

Veterans of Call of Duty will easily fall in with the new maps. Why woulda company change something that has worked so well for so long. To break it down the menu and prestige are all the same as before. What has been added is a total customization of your character. As you progress through online rankings new weapons and clothing items will be unlocked. Even new Exo shaders( stole that from Destiny) will be available. Keeping Clan Wars is one of the best ideas that Sledgehammer could of had. The competition really helped keep games hooked into Ghost last year.

With a few needed additions the new multiplayer experience is surely going to sell this game. I actually went ahead and played the campaign after a few matches. Usually I'm that guy that focuses on the single player story first.  If your one of those guys that always thinks every Call of Duty is the same then your in for a surprise with this game. Follow me @davidyerion for more useless information. Look out for Part 2 of this review later in the week.
